Christmas Childhood Memories

Who doesn't like the Christmas season?  The decorating, gifts, cooking, spending time with family and all those Christmas Specials on TV!!  LOL!!.

I keep saying one of these days the Christmas Specials I grew up watching aren't going to be on TV any more, but every year, there they are again.  Now my grandchildren are hooked too!!.

Cindy Lou Who, who was no more than two . . . . . .

Belly sledding!!

Hermie and Rudolph(had an elf I used to make, that I named Hermie)
he wants to be a dentist . . . .

Chris Kringle and Miss Jessica
Can't forget the Winter Warlock, just put one foot in front of the other and soon you'll be walking cross the floor

saving the best for last, I even have one of those trees and a Linus blanket . . .

One of the strangest duo combinations I can think of is the matching of Bing Crosby with David Bowie for "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy", but wow, what magic.  Click on the title and it will take you to the YouTube video to watch and listen.

Time for "decking the halls".  My snowman collection is all out, that usually takes awhile (I have three big plastic tubs of snowmen).  I have managed to get the tree is up, but it is not decorated yet. Think I will be working on getting that done this weekend. Shopping is all DONE though, YAH!!  Might go shopping for a few more snowmen, you can never have enough . . .

Warm Wishes,
Kim

  4. Oh how I used to love all those Christmas shows. I'd always cry, which used to confound my mother. "Why are you crying?" she'd ask. "Because I'm so happy!" I'd reply. Watching the 1960s version of Cinderella used to reduce me to wracking sobs! LOL

    Hugs,

  5. Oh...those are all of my absolute favorite shows!! Still wait for them every year (and if I miss them, pull out the videos...) My "grown-up" treat is A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott - wouldn't be Christmas without it.....Oh - you are so way ahead of me...Really - shopping done? Yikes - haven't even begun....and still wrestling with some black cats who want to hang out for the big day....I've stopped even pulling up my blog because that countdown thingy scares the heck out of me.... :o But, my snowfolk couple are whispering and kindly suggesting I put things in gear....so I'll give it a good go.... ;o) Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

  7. I'm English, so it's 'The Snowman' for me. The original telly version has David Bowie, too. That and Charlie Brown, of course. I cry every single time! As for films, the Muppet Show Christmas Carol is surprising loyal to the book. Now it's my favourite Michael Caine film!

    wait...your shopping is DONE? Seriously?

    Will you do mine?
